The Fear of Stagnation

Stagnation is the dream killer.

I typically save these type of blog posts for my Monday Morning Musings series that I do from time to time. But it’s no longer Monday and the lingering feeling to write this up still persists, so here I am.

It’s been almost two weeks since I’ve written my last blog post (one that I’m INSANELY proud of through a collaboration with FoKAS photography). It’s been almost two weeks since I’ve really read anything toward my 2017 Reading Challenge; and it’s been about a week since I’ve written anything towards my novel and shared it in my Attacking the Novel series. Needless to say, in my mind, I feel like I’ve fallen off to some degree. For a number of reasons. But I’m not here to actually talk about any of those excuses. Instead, I want to briefly talk about avoiding the same pitfalls once you realize that you’re not living up to your potential.

FoKAS Community Spotlight Opportunity

Building upon the foundation I established since my very first post on this blog, my goal has been to continue to escalate and elevate, challenging myself to do more towards reaching my aspirations. A few weeks ago, I had the amazing opportunity to be featured online in a community spotlight piece for a local photography website that has been doing quality work for a number of years now. One that I’ve also been working with as a content and copy editor on the side.

[Attacking the Novel] Actually WRITING the Novel


The month of June is upon us! With that comes a lot of different meanings. But more on that in subsequent posts for the future. The big thing to focus on today is that I’ve reached the third and perhaps most pivotal of my self titled ‘Attacking the Novel’ blog series; and that is to actually write the dang thing.
