A NaNoWriMo Deferred

Probably against my better judgement, I’m going to give this my best shot.

National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) has already commenced and I’m already behind. For those who’ve been keeping up with my blog (HERE, HERE, and HERE), I’ve been speaking about NaNoWriMo for at least a month or more. I haven’t attempted it in three years due to my schedule. Honestly, I don’t think I have time this year either.

But it doesn’t mean that I won’t try. Emboldened by the strides I’ve made thanks to starting this blog and receiving great words of encouragement from the people who’ve read it, I want to make 2016 a banner year and hash out my first draft of my novel.

The biggest difficulty I face is the fact that my ability to write will be impeded due to being amazingly busy through Wednesday of next week (the unfortunate part of being there for a friend during his wedding I suppose). I say that with heavy sarcasm but I wouldn’t have it any other way. My friends and family will always come first. Having no access to a computer to type will mean that I’ll be approaching this whole scenario old school for the next few days.

I’m probably showing my age just with explaining things like that but so be it. I type much faster than writing with a pencil on paper but I want to try something. The smaller amount of words that I have to play ‘catch up’ on the better.

I plan on providing updates every week on my progress this month and hopefully be at positive end of the 50,000 word goal by November 30th. Let’s hope so.
